Creating wireframes are essential for the brainstorming process. You are able to quickly draw out rough ideas of how an app might look like. This gave me as a developer an easy way to work out the general information architecture without having to waste time re-coding once the app is starting to be built. Designing is much more organized when you have a general idea of where you want elements to be placed.
